Resource Efficiency Excellence Award
This award aimed to reward an organisation that demonstrated a significant improvement in resource efficiency during the period July 2008 –June 2009 although activity that began before this time was accepted so long as sustainable benefits were demonstrated.
Entries were considered for achievements within specific offices of the organisation that showcase excellence, or for organisations as a whole.
Entrants had to demonstrate how improvements had been achieved through one or more initiative - this may be through targeting a specific type of material (paper, cans, bottles, food waste etc) or for multi materials.
Entries could focus on projects such as waste minimisation, re-use, recycling, composting, education and awareness raising and other activities contributing to resource efficiency.
Judges looked for evidence that the improvements had continued beyond June 2009.
