Specialist Support
In 2009/10 specialist support was available to public sector bodies who were looking to address at least 6 tonnes of waste/year reducing waste to landfill by a minimum of 1.5 tonnes/year. The level of consultancy support provided was dependent upon the potential quantity of material diversion as assessed by an Envirowise advisor.
In 2010/11 direct support for organisations has continued with a further 15 organisations benefitting from receiving tailored on-site advice.

Showcase Projects
The Public Sector Waste Minimisation Campaign in 2009/10 set about working with key organisations that were identified through the Waste Production Survey as having particular issues generating and dealing with large amounts of waste.
The aim of the support was to reduce waste at source, improve segregation and recycling, increase sustainable procurement of goods and services and reduce supply chain impacts. Organisations selected for showcase project support were provided with specialist consultancy support. We regularly review progress of the organisations.
