Green-thinking pupils fly environmental flag

REDUCE, reuse, repair and respect is a motto which is helping staff and pupils at a city primary create one of Wales’ greenest schools.
Eglwys Wen Primary in Whitchurch, Cardiff, has been an Eco school since 2003, and gained its third Eco Schools Green Flag – the highest environmental award in education.
The school have a strong recycling ethic throughout and have been able to place recycling bins in all classrooms, enabling to recycle a variety of waste streams from paper to mobile phones. The pupils play their part within the scheme as the recycling policy is managed by pupils through the democratically elected eco committee.
