Green Stars
Green Stars are individuals or groups of people within the public sector in Wales who do whatever they can to make a real effort to reduce waste. This can be anything that makes a positive contribution towards reducing the amount of resources that are used and thrown away.
Green Stars are the faces of the public sector waste minimisation campaign. They are real people in real jobs that want to make a difference to the way they and those around them work. They don't have to be environmental managers or responsible for the management of waste. They can be anyone who wants to change or challenge the way we work.
In 2009 we ran a campaign to encourage people to come forward and tell us about the things they were doing to help reduce waste where they work. Throughout the year we ran news stories and have produced a poster for each of the Green Stars which are available in Welsh and can be downloaded and used by anyone who wishes to demonstrate what can be achieved.
