Nature of activities

A Resource Efficiency scheme was rolled out to 24 council sites on 23rd November 2009. Conwy  undertook an initial desktop survey of the 24 sites, using site floor plans to identify the approximate number of recycling bins to be installed at each site. Having conducted a more detailed survey of each site, it was identified that the original quota of recycling bins allocated from the desktop survey at some sites, was an over-estimate of what could realistically be installed. Conwy are in the process of gathering residual waste data for the sites to see if there has been a reduction of residual waste since the recycling scheme was implemented. Once the data has been analysed, Conwy will identify where they are able to reduce the number of residual waste bins and the number of collections.
