The purchase of bespoke stainless steel trolleys to replace clinical waste bins at ward level resulting in sustainable reduction of healthcare waste and improved infection control management of the patient environment.

University of Glamorgan, £3,000
The purchase of recycling containers to help recycle more cardboard, plastic bottles, metal and cans. The target is to increase the annual recycling rate from 34% to 50.

Brecon Beacons National Park, £1,024.78

Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust, County Hospital Pontypool, £13,923.75
To purchase a 10m3 compactor to improve the efficiency of moving recyclable waste to a Material Recycling Facility for sorting. The aim is to reduce the percentage of domestic waste sent to landfill from the County Hospital by 65%.

To purchase a 22.3m3 compactor with the aim to reduce the percentage of domestic waste sent to landfill from the Royal Gwent/St Woolos Hospital by 65%.

Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust, Royal Gwent and St Woolos Hospitals, £6,211.05
To purchase green lidded recycling bins in order to reduce the percentage of domestic waste to landfill from the Royal Gwent and St Woolos Hospitals by 65%, the Trust are hoping to divert approximately 325 tonnes.

Abercanaid Community School, £6,857
The purchase of recycling bins, a steam cleaner,  a dishwasher and reusable cups to eliminate use of disposable cups, eliminate use of aerosols and plastic containers as used in the cleaning of the school premises and increase recycling of indoor generated waste.

Blaenau Gwent County Council, £58,522
To purchase a variety of recycling bins, food bins, external bins, which the council are expecting will help to reduce the waste by approximately 65%.

St Josephs Roman Catholic Primary School, £6,000
To purchase bird litter bins, which the school are expecting will help reduce waste through recycling by approximately 50%

Hywel Dda NHS Trust, £8,925.84
The trust were awarded funding to purchase 60 litre recycling bins. The trust is expecting to recycle 48% of their cans and plastics.

Her Majesty's Court Service, £8,000
HM Courts were granted funding to purchase recycling bins for their sites throughout Wales. HM Courts Service is expecting to make resource efficiency savings of 40%.

Carmarthensshire County Council (CCC), £4994.60
To purchase 54 litre swing bins, as part of the CCC Recycling Bins Project. The Council is hoping to divert approximately 42% of waste away from landfill, which is over 60 tonnes of waste.

Coleg Gwent, £11526.66
To purchase segregated recycling bins to be used as part of their recycling project. The Coleg are hoping to divert as much as 90% of the waste streams from landfill, which is approximately 65 tonnes. View Case Study

Bridgend County Borough Council, £4325
To purchase a cardboard baler to be used as part of their Green Dragon Targets Programme. The aim is to recycle upto 75% of the onsite cardboard waste.

Velindre Cancer Centre, £12017.50
The centre were provided with funding to purchase a waste compactor, which is expected to increase cardboard recycling by up 10 tonnes, mixed recycling by 55 tonnes. 

Conwy County Borough Council, £11065.30
To purchase Slim Jim and Stacka recycling bins. The council are expecting to increase recycling by approximately 50% as a result of this grant.

South West Wales Higher Education Partnership, £8000
The partnership have been awarded funding to purchase Uni-cycle, Ecosort bins and waste baskets, which will be used as part of the Big Bin Switch Project. The partnership are hoping to make resource efficiency savings of approximately 30%.
